November 30, 2016

By Kaitlin

Backed by some uptempo melody-driven instrumentation from Kamoshun, Justin Snow makes his long awaited solo debut with “White On White.” Mixed by legendary sound architects Cool & Dre, the record is currently on it’s way to reaching the 50K stream benchmark via Soundcloud and is an early sign the Florida native is here to stay. Snow credits mentor A$AP Yams for encouraging him to step from behind the scenes (songwriting/producing) into the limelight as a solo artist.

Rome – “Wasn’t Built In A Day” [Mixtape]

November 30, 2016

By Kaitlin

Bronx Native rapper, Rome, returns to offer up his most recent and most meaningful body of work.

Being raised between the East Side of Harlem and the Bronx, Sounds of Rome (fka. Zeuss) is a true testament to the classic phrase, “Rome wasn’t built in a day.” Under The Alias, Zeuss, he started his musical journey as a freshman in high school, releasing solo projects, Money Is The Motive, The After Effect, and The Collection.

After close to a decade of creating work as Zeuss, he needed a rebirth, a breath of fresh air. Marrying his influences from the braggadocios, legendary wrestler, Ted Dibiase, aspirations of being a comedian with his experiences as a native New Yorker, Rome was born.

“The project was inspired on new beginnings. The dead flowers represent my past life and how I wanted to leave my old self in the past and reintroduce myself to a new audience with a new sound, perspective, overall look on my present life.”

November 29, 2016

By Mo Indigo

When It Gets Knight Out acquaints us with Newburgh native Aaron Knight, a former basketball star turned musician creating new-age R&B masterpieces decorated with poetic lyrics and moving harmonies.

The Queens based singer/songwriter creates a strong introduction with “My Time” a gritty opener with solid rhymes. He illustrates vivid imagery in “Okay” and “Holy.” “Thrizzy” and “OG” ooze Knight’s confident, upfront nature.

Aaron eases any escalating emotional tension with Dancehall-inspired “Whine”, smoke heavy “Roll It” and penultimate suave record “Dinero”. “Life to Live” acts as a reassuring closer, solidifying his destined greatness.

WIGKO explores moments of euphoria, hustle and ambition. Knight maintains a strong, energetic presence in his project. The future of R&B is in good hands.
