Jumpshooters – “Regular” [Video]

October 19, 2017

By Kaitlin

The duo of Xavi and Dre, collectively known as Jumpshooters are ushering a new era of California Hip Hop apart from the street and ratchet themes that have been so prevalent in that region. Hailing from Mid-City and The Jungles, they grew up on opposites of the track, Blood and Crip neighborhoods respectively, but later connected through their shared Jamaican heritage and from there, Xavi and Dre began working on crafting their own unique sound. Now, with years of hard work on their resume, the Jumpshooters are ready to bring their style to the masses with the release of their Scholastic Vision-directed visual for “Regular.” In the clip, which serves as their lead single, the duo takes listeners through a day-in-the-life in Los Angeles, showcasing their flashy lifestyle that might be over the top for some, but the norm for them. The Marz produced track will appear on their debut project “A Very Good Mixtape,” which is slated for release this Winter via Priority Records Distribution.

Marquel Deljuan – “Bills” [Video]

October 14, 2017

By Kaitlin

Like most teenagers, Marquel Deljuan didn’t listen to anybody — not his parents nor to his true calling. But he knows what’s it’s like to have a second chance. His debut project, Don’t Listen — a collaboration with his father, music producer and rapper Irin “Iroc” Daniels — is an anthem to dismissing the naysayers… even if the naysayer is you.

“Bills” is the first single from the father-son album, which serves as the soundtrack to The System — a film written and directed by Iroc Daniels that exposes layers of corruption and racial tension within the political, judicial and prison systems.
Take a look at the video, which was directed by BuffNerds.

Tim Maiden – “So Far Gone”

October 14, 2017

By Kaitlin

After just being featured on Spotify’s main Fresh Finds playlist for his second single “The Other Side,” Tim Maiden returns with the incredible “So Far Gone.” The song is a look into Tim’s soul and captures a moment of truth for the young singer/songwriter. He says about the song:

So Far Gone means exactly what it means. When I wrote this song I stopped suppressing some shit, sat down at the piano and for the first time in a long time let it out. In a lot of ways this song was the song that got me on track and helped me find myself as a artist; the beginning I guess. Not hiding is a beautiful thing. Being present with yourself and others is all you can do, otherwise what’s the point.
